Sir J. Jordan to Sir Edward Grey.-(Received November 20, 7:30 p.m.)

(No. 289.) R.

YOUR telegram No. 170 [

Peking, November 20, 1911, 6·55 P.M.

1.

I consider, and Governor of Hong Kong entirely agrees, that, while we cannot very well, in view of altered circumstances, prevent Sun from passing through Hong Kong, he should be warned that he cannot remain there, but, if he wishes to help revolutionary movement, he must do so in China itself. (End of R.)

(Confidential.)

I have reason to believe that the revolutionary party are not anxious for the return of Sun, whom they regard as a coward.
